"Founded in 1957 under the Treaty of Rome, established on 31 October 1962 and
located close to the seaside amidst the dunes of Petten (North-Holland) on a
24 ha site, the Institute for Advanced Materials (IAM) is part of the
Directorate General Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
IAM features unique facilities and a 200 person staff organised around five
scientific units and one support unit handling administrative and managerial
matters. IAM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for
materials sciences and structural integrity technology."
