Decommissioning Training - EUNDETRAF

NRG is one of the partners in the European Nuclear Decommissioning Training Facility (EUNDETRAF). EUNDETRAF's objectives are to disseminate and share European decommissioning knowledge with those who are faced with the problem of decommissioning of nuclear facilities by holding annual training courses.

Each training course consists of a one-week theoretical and a one-week practical part. The theoretical part aims to serve a broad audience with a maximum of about 35 participants and consists of oral presentations, discussions and handing in of a detailed textbook. The practical part of the course, which includes technical presentations, supervised exercises, demonstrations and technical visits to plants being decommissioned, is only accessible to a limited number of people (maximum 10).

Target audience:
The target audience includes personnel who are or will be involved in decommissioning projects, such as project managers, engineers, health physicists, etc. The course will also be of interest to people wanting to know more about decommissioning, such as government and regulatory authority officials, industry representatives, small and medium sized companies employees.

Next course:
The fourth course will be held in Piacenza, Italy. The course has been postponed to November 2006 (originally planned in March 2006).
Brief content of the course:
