Environmental and dose assessments
The product group Radiation & Environment (NRG-RE) conducts among others
environmental assessments, in which dispersion in air, water and soil are addressed.
- Assessment of compliance with regulations
- Assessment of probabilities, magnitudes and consequences, with respect to chemical,
thermal or radiological aspects.
- Calculations can be part of a complete environmental assessment or safety assessment,
which is sometimes required for a license application.
Assessing compliance with regulations
A complicated system of rules and regulations makes it difficult to find out
whether your company complies with all requirements. The consultants
of NRG will establish certainty about your status of compliance to the regulations.
Also for complete environmental impact assessments NRG is your one stop shop.
Dispersion in water of contaminants and cooling water : Hydrological modelling
The productgroup Radiation & Environment (NRG-RE) may calculate for you the
dispersion in surface and groundwater of cooling water, chemicals, radionuclides or
other substances. Even coastal areas and other complex systems can be modelled (2D en 3D).
The thermal, chemical and even radiological burden of the aquatic environment with
continuous and incident emissions can be effectively visualized with our state-of-the-art
models and programs.
The involvement of NRG is not limited to the application of existing models and packages,
we are also involved in the development of such models and tools.

Dispersion in air of contaminants
NRG-RE conducts assessments of airborne emissions with radioactive
contaminants. Deterministic and probabilistic assesments of consequences are
documented in an NRG-report, which can be used in your license application,
your environmental assessment, etc.
