The Public info section celebrates four years of public information
about nuclear technology. In 1999 a serious start was made with establishing the
'public info' section on the NRG-website.
A diversity of topics related to nuclear technology and/or radiation in simple
wording. The popularity of the section 'Public Info' from its inception has been
growing, judging from the number of pages visited every year and the responses
of the visitors of our website.

Questions & answers service
The public info section is very popular with students.
They are the ones that very often use our Q&A service.
Dutch visitors can ask something about a topic related to
nuclear technology and get a response from an expert.
We always try to give a response within a few days, on the other
hand we always make clear that this is a free service, we have limited
resources and our experts do this in addition to their 'official' work.
Nuclear technology - use of photographs and images
Images very often are very useful to explain things.
We always try to use them when appropriate. Sometimes the presentation
is completely built up from photographs like the virtual tour of our
(nuclear) facilities; a photo-registration of the "open house" event in the
year 2000.

Continuous renewal
Our staff is constantly on the lookout for new material to use on our website and an continuous
effort is made to modernise the existing content on the Public Info pages.
Recently we added a section on nuclear technology in space, because of the many
questions we received on this topic.
Medical topics have always been very popular. Therefore
we have brought all information on such topics in one new section.
Examples of topics addressed are: tumor irradiation in the hospital, radiodiagnostics,
advanced techniques like BNCT.
